Where Do You Live?

State:

More people than ever are choosing to lease vans, both privately and commercially. Lots of people cannot offered to buy a van in the recession and so many are now going for the less-commitment choice. Unfortunatetly, with the growing popularity, so there has been an increase in leasing companies charging customers for damage to the vans that already existed. The obvious way to avoid this to give the van a good going over first, but which are the vital things to look out for?

Body work. Have a good look around the body work both inside and out before van leasing. You’re looking for dents, scratches, holes, rust etc. Really anything that you can be accused of causing down the line. Make a note of anything you find and take photos of it also for evidence.

Suspension. You really do not want to be driving a van away that has faulty suspension give it a good testing before you do. Rock both of the rear corners of the van, one at a time to get the suspension moving.  When rocking the van the suspension should be smooth and quiet. If you notice any loud noises or the movement does not feel fluid, get the leasing company to take a look at it priory to paying for it. You should also do the same for the front suspension and test it extensively if you are Citroen van leasing as these vans often use hydraulic suspension which is even more expensive to put right

Engine. If you don’t know much about motors it is difficult to know what you are looking for. First start the engine up, let it run for a while, then gradually increase the revs. Warning signs include lots of smoke, interrupted firing, loud noises or loss of power to name but a few.  If in any doubt take someone along who knows a bit or go for Ford van leasing as these vans are the most reliable.
