The majority of people know about the reputation that white van men have, but what about red van men? Well because of the credit crunch, these could soon die out because of the European wide shortage of red vans.
The credit crunch is the reason for the lack of the red vans. Because money is tight and the sales of vans has been affected by the credit crunch, the overall amount of vans being produced has been reduced. More classic colours like white are being produced instead and as for companies that rely on red vans, they might have to change their van colours to something more traditional.
It seems like a strange situation, manufacturers are making less white vans because of the credit crunch, but the coloured vans are the ones that companies are after buying.
If some businesses end up changing the colour of their van fleet, it may be good because they may end up choosing a safer colour. This may sound strange, but there have been studies that show that white vehicles are the most safest and are in the less accidents. There have been a number of studies to find out which colour is the safest colour, one being a study that showed that white cars were the safest during a lightning storm. Another study showed that a white fire engine was less likely yo be involved in an accident than a red one.
Maybe we should start claiming a reduction in car insurance if you have a white car because according to the RAC white is the safest car colour.
